Mr. D Consumer Math Review

Relatable. Relevant. Real Life.

I went through an entire school year without hearing, “what am I ever going to use this for?’ I also went through an entire school year without staying up late watching YouTube videos to figure out a math concept to in turn, attempt to reteach it to my kid. Want to know what else? I have finally found a math curriculum that I can confidently recommend to everyone.

Experience Chemistry Review

Are you intimidated to teach high school science courses in your homeschool? Don’t be! Journey Homeschool Academy has got you covered!

Atoms, and moles, and molecules, oh my! High school chemistry can be more scary than a walk through the Haunted Forest in the Wizard of Oz! The thought of teaching chemistry can bring out the cowardly lion in most of us. Don’t believe in the spooks of Chemistry, give up, and turn around, though. Repeat after me – “There’s no place like home(school), there’s no place like home(school), there’s no place like home(school).”

Eve in Exile Book Review

Design matters. The intent of the Designer matters.

Have you ever wondered how we got where we are today in our culture concerning gender roles? Our nation is obsessed with the topic of gender…or should I say misgender? Marriage no longer has anything to do with gender, several sports no longer recognize gender, and middle-aged men are being named “woman of the year” for crying out loud! Obviously, our nation is confused, misguided, and vehemently rejects our God-given roles.

Learn U.S. Geography with PaperPie

If I could teach all subjects using one subject, it would be geography. There is so much to gain across all subject matter through geography: history, civics, religion, culinary arts, fine art, people, science, literature….you get the picture. Too bad I didn’t start a hundred years ago writing curriculum, I think I’d have something good to offer by now.

How to Navigate a Homeschool Convention

Have you ever attended a Homeschool Convention? If not, I highly encourage you to check one out this year! There are a few things I’ve learned over the years – in person as well as virtually!

I barely remember the first convention I attended. I don’t even know the year, but it had to be 13-14 years ago. One thing I do remember is how overwhelming it was, and oh yes, coming home with a few dissection specimens and art supplies. I had no idea how to navigate such an event, and I wish someone would have given me some tips. So here I am writing, “How to Navigate a Homeschool Convention”.

Is Public Education Really Against America?

“If only people knew” – that’s the phrase rolling in my thoughts as I read Public Education Against America. Thanks to Marlin Maddoux people can know, if they dare read it. Be forewarned, this isn’t a pleasant read. In fact, as I turned each page, so did my stomach.

Public Education Against America exposes the manipulation, lies, and straight up assault on America’s youth. The author, Marlin Maddoux was the host of a radio talk show, Point of View, founder and president of the USA Radio Network, as well as the National Center for Freedom and Renewal. This book, published in 2006 (note that date) was Mr. Maddoux’s last written work. Within its chapters, the reader is taken through a journey of discovery of what public education has become. I don’t believe anyone can argue the fact that there are problems with public education, but not many understand the secret agenda and dark history associated with it. The public education system is actually doing what it was designed to do all along: to replace reading, writing, and arithmetic with moral relativism and secular humanism.

So Long, Homeschool Review Crew

After four years and 60 product reviews, my time has come to an end as a reviewer with the Homeschool Review Crew. Being a member of the review crew has been a blessing to my family, a learning experience for us all, and a time of growth for me. I knew at the start of this year, that it would be my last. One child has graduated, and my other one is nearing, we have simply aged out. What I didn’t know until recently, was that everyone’s time on the crew was up. The Homeschool Review Crew is closing.
