Our Homeschool Curriculum/Mid Year Check Ins

12th Grade Homeschool Curriculum Choices 2021-2022

Can I just say that I am not as excited about this as I should be? My first born, my helper, my sidekick is in 12th grade! She has been with me on this crazy experiment called homeschooling since the very beginning. Curriculum changes, schedule changes, bad days, as well as the very best days, she’s been a part of it all. Now here we are, revealing our curriculum choices for 12th grade. In approximately 180 days, it will be over. Somebody get me a Kleenex!

As always, I have given the upcoming homeschool year much thought in the direction it will go, and the curriculum choices I have made. At this time, she is not university bound and not entirely sure of the next chapter after graduating from our homeschool. I’m totally okay with that, and have not applied any pressure to decide right now. Because of that, I have chosen a general curriculum this year mixed with some of her interests in mind.

Many of the following links are affiliate links. That means I may earn a small commission from your purchase. It costs nothing extra for you, and helps me with homeschool expenses such as plenty of coffee, and a several boxes of Kleenex.

12th Grade Curriculum Choices

  • Math – None. Zero. Zip. Nada. We are both happy about this! (Although I’m eyeing a Personal Finance course for second semester – we’ll see.)
  • EconomicsNotgrass Exploring Economics. I was able to review this earlier in the year, and feel that it will be beneficial this year. You can check out all the details in my Timberdoodle Review.
  • Science – We are excited to try a brand new Chemistry course from Journey Homeschool Academy this year! If it is as good as their biology course my son took last year, than I know it’s going to be good.
  • English IV – I put this course together using Editor in Chief Level 3 for grammar, It’s NOT Greek to Me for vocabulary, Wordsmith Craftsman for writing with possibly a few activities from Rip the Page for creativity. I also hope to throw in four literature units, titles undecided.
  • Bible – She will continue with GSB (Grace School of the Bible). We are both enrolled in the three year course. It is an intensive study of the Bible according to the method set forth in II Timothy 2:15.
  • Photography – I think she is most excited about this course from SchoolhouseTeachers.com. I can’t wait to see what she does with it, because she already has a good eye for it. Speaking of eye, I also got a copy of Seeing Things. It just arrived today, and I hope she enjoys looking at it as much as I have.

That’s our plan, and we may or may not be sticking to it! Check back with me for an update in late January when I write our mid-year check in! I will also be showing off our Lunch Crate soon that will add a few fun extras to our school day.

Stick with this homeschool mamas (and dads)! Time really does fly by, and I’m so glad to have spent these precious years with our children. I can tell you that it is one of the best decisions we have ever made, and I have absolutely no regrets. Believe me, it’s worth it!

  1. So many similarities between your oldest and mine. This is also my oldest’s last year and she is not college bound. She is a bit more decided in what she wants to pursue but has to figure out how to earn money from it. Good luck with this year!

    1. Thank you so much! We completed our first lesson today. Light bulb moment: the name of the yogurt in the fridge, Oikos, means house – which comes from oikonomos… our word for Economics!
