Fanatic News Flash – November

November happens to be one of my favorite months! The weather is finally starting to feel like fall, we have got a good routine going in our homeschool, and we have a family tradition of taking a mini vacation over Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, November is a month that gets overshadowed by the frenzy of Christmas. It’s the one month that I feel like being a procrastinator isn’t a bad thing.

Fanatic News Flash – October

I survived our first month back to school, and we’re off to a great start! Read on to find out what we’ve been up to!

I don’t know about you, but September flew by faster than a toupee in a hurricane! Speaking of hurricane, Dorian was on our heels at the time of my newsletter last month. Thankfully, the storm weakened and was back to sea quickly. It’s still hot and humid, and the mosquitoes are terrible! I’ll be glad when fall makes it’s full arrival.

Fanatic News Flash – May

I can see the light at the end of the homeschooling tunnel for the 2018-19 school year! How about you? We are not year-rounders, and I am looking forward as much as the kids are for a long break! My goal is to administer our required standardized testing just after Memorial Day, and when that’s done, we’re done! Unfortunately, due to some changes, starts, and stops, my girl will be working on algebra this summer. One of the many reasons I love homeschooling is that we can work at our own pace. This allows time for real learning and understanding. So, in the sweltering NC heat, we can stay inside and fill in some of the gaps that we need to before moving on.
